General Lesson Information

Ready to become a creative, confident musician? I offer personal, individualized piano lessons focused on self-expression in a relaxed and supportive setting. Private lessons ensure every student—whether they are a young beginner or an advanced adult—works at the ideal pace for their goals.

Beginners and Youngest Students

Learning something new can be daunting! Beginners of any age benefit most from shorter sessions that introduce concepts at a temperate pace, which is why I recommend one 30-minute session per week with home practice in between. Personalized attention, flexibility, and individualized assignments help build confidence as well as mastery. Once students progress, 45-minute lessons will be recommended.

Curriculum & Required Materials

The Piano Adventures series by Faber is my preferred choice for beginning students, with age-appropriate selections for all levels. I also flexibly utilize other method books, supplemental materials, games, and activities to enhance learning.

Required Supplies: All students must have a functioning acoustic piano or a digital piano with weighted, 88 keys and a sustain/damper pedal. Students will also need a dedicated notebook to be used as an assignment book.

Higher Levels

Students who have achieved a higher level may benefit from more time and attention to detail as they grow in confidence, strive for excellence, and pursue creative expression. In this case, a 45-minute or hour-long session per week allows the teacher and student to work together in tackling individual goals.
